A Day At the Office

Saaaaaaaaaturdaaaaaaaaaay! Okay I hope you read that in a singing voice, preferably opera because that’s how I did it!

I have to say, even though I was at work yesterday, it was an insanely easy day for me and such a break! One of the surgeons I work with has an office PA that was on vacation, so I was pulled away from the hospital to do her job. They start at 830, so I slept in until 7! Amazing! Way better than that 430am stuff.

I started my morning at home with a banana, coffee, and a casein shake in the car. I never start my mornings with casein, but wow that stuff keeps you full!

I was able to wear real people clothes to work instead of just scrubs. I felt so different.

The employees were so nice and welcoming! I felt so comfortable, I wish I could go at least once a week. It’s nice to change things up instead of sticking with the same work everyday. One woman even made a special trip to another office to get me a cup of coffee. I kept telling her no I was fine, but she insisted! So sweet.

For my lunch break I grabbed a magazine and did some light reading while I ate my food

I came across this little blurb about kettle bells and strength training which I thought was pretty cool!

The rest of the day flew by and we finished up by 4! I think he liked that I was super efficient and kept him rolling through his patients. It was a full list so I expected to be there until 5:30!

I left for some time at my 2nd office (the gym) and when I got there it was pretty empty. Friday afternoons aren’t too busy anyway, but it was opening day for baseball and I’m pretty sure all of Maryland was there. Plus the O’s won!

While people were cheering on the O’s I was bench pressing! Just a quick chest routine and some cardio to follow.

  • Smith bench presses 95 lbs, 10 reps x 3 sets, then 75 lbs, 12 reps x 3 sets
  • Butterfly’s 17.5 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
  • Pec Fly’s 50-60 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
  • Pec Fly’s standing, 8 lb kettles, 12 reps x 4 sets
  • Around the world’s lying on the bench, 8 lbs each hand, 10 reps x 4 sets
  • Pushups, 10 reps x 3 sets
  • Elliptical 45 minutes

I stretched it out and headed home to make some din din which includes a new recipe! Finally right? Sorry, I’ve been so wiped lately. This one is super healthy and the spices are so delicious. Try some Carrot Fries!

I was scared I wouldn’t like these, but they tasted better than sweet potato fries, which I LOVE! Click the pic above to make them šŸ™‚

I also had chicken breast for dinner, and snacked on some dried mango. Phoebe and I watched our nightly shows (Ellen, TMZ, Jimmy Fallon, Friends) and cuddled.

We are both looking so forward to G-Mama and Pop Pops later. It’s also leg day, yay! Get ready for some squat love.

XOXO With a Cherry On Top,
