Catfished!

Good Morning and Happy How the heck is it Sunday already?

Hey it’s still a day off so I know I shouldn’t complain.

First of all I’m super upset I got up early this morning, got all dressed, and the second I go to walk out the door my e-mail dings saying Phoebe’s class is cancelled. When I got up it wasn’t raining and wouldn’t you know it at 8:10 it started pouring (class was at 8:30). I guess there’s always next week to show up all them doggies! 😉 It’ll give me something to look forward to through out the week.

Yesterday I posted on my Instagram that I had been catfished. No I didn’t meet some guy online, have a 3 year text relationship with him, and then meet him in person only to find out he’s a 50 year old woman from Minnesota who got bored in her marriage. Turns out I’m on the other side of things! Let me explain. I received a text from a friend saying hey I didn’t know you were on Tinder? I was thinking what the heck is Tinder? And why am I on it?

After some research, I found out Tinder is a popular dating app people use on their phones. I guess it’s like Match or E-Harmony or one of those, but app version only. WELL, someone is using my pictures and claiming that is them. I realize I put all my stuff out there and anyone could take them and do this. Then I was told why don’t you watermark your photos? Great another step in blogging that will take another hour nightly, when the person can just learn how to crop it out, no thanks.

I have to say I’m NOT THRILLED someone is doing this, and it’s definitely not cool on their part, but eventually that person will get caught. If you go to meet someone, guess what? NOT ME! In a weird way I could consider this flattering since someone thinks I’m attractive enough to pretend to be me? I wonder if they have a good dating life!? 😉

So if you see me on there by some chance, it’s not me guys. And you should know that because it’s something social, and let’s face it, I don’t do social! 🙂

Small morning edit: I found out you need to have a Facebook profile to use Tinder (it links all your pictures), which makes this even MORE weird because someone created an entire Facebook profile using my pictures. Just awesome! Sarcasm…

CATFISHED!

Anyway, my morning yesterday started with a low-carb breakfast. I’ve been trying to get creative now that I have started carb cycling and yesterday was low carb day. What the heck do you make at breakfast that’s not carbs? And not eggs? Seriously breakfast is the most carb-y meal. So I worked my brain a little, did some internet research and came up with this:

‘Flax Porridge’

IMG_0900

Sorry for my “work station” with calendar and various grocery lists!

If you are a texture person, this might not be for you. It’s thick and a little goopy, but I enjoyed it! Here’s the recipe:

  • 1/4 cup of ground flax meal
  • 1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons of water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 dropper of liquid Stevia (or about 1/2 to 1 packet)
  • 1/2 Tablespoon of natural peanut butter
  • 1/2 Tablespoon of PB2

You can certainly skip the sweetener all together, use just natural PB or just PB2. I wanted a little bit of fat and creaminess, but not too much so I used half and half!

Bring the water to a boil, add the flax to a bowl and pour 1/2 cup of water over top. Mix thoroughly, it’ll be thick! Add the peanut butter, PB2 (in powder form!) liquid stevia, and cinnamon. Stir! Since the PB2 was added as a powder, mix in the 2 extra Tablespoons of water to thin out the porridge some. It helps. Add more if you think it’s still too thick.

Nutritional info: 181.25 calories, 13.4 grams of fat, 11 grams of carbs, 10 grams of daily FIBER, 9.8 grams of protein.

I know you are probably thinking that’s a lot of fat, but really guys it’s GOOD fat, it’s the fat your body craves to survive. If you grab a bag of low fat potato chips and think you are making the smarter choice, you’re not.

Flax is rich in omega 3’s (AKA the good fats) which fight off heart disease, diabetes, and cancers. ALSO fun fact, but since there is an estrogen type component in flax seeds, they may help fight off hot flashes. A study showed that 57% of women who took 2 Tablespoons of flax daily saw a decrease in their hot flashes. Well at least I thought it was cool? Medical nerd!

This recipe does come with a little warning though. Notice I capitalized the fiber in nutritional information. If you are NOT used to eating a lot of fiber I suggest you start with about half of this recipe. That is a lot of fiber for the body in the morning, so I don’t want to be the cause of you cursing me for an upset tummy. It’s like those Fiber One bars, some people just cannot tolerate them. I am used to it, so I had no tummy issues at all. You know your body better than I do! 🙂

Yesterday I headed to the gym and decided to make it a back day. I was SUPER disappointed when I arrived because my empty spin room? FULL! They were doing some instructor training so I couldn’t use it. Bummer. I made the best of my cardio and switched it all up during my workout. Here was my entire workout. It was intense!

  • Dead lifts, 135 lbs, 8 reps x 4 sets —- I like busting these out first! Sets the tone of the workout
  • Lat pulldowns, 50 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets (2 sets wide grip, 2 sets narrow grip)
  • 10 minute elliptical session
  • High cable rows, 45 lbs, 10 reps both arms, single arm 10 reps each side, REPEAT THIS 3 times!
  • Reverse booty pikes, 10 reps x 3 sets
  • 20 minute treadmill session (10 minute run, 10 minute incline walk)
  • Bench single arm bent over rows, 25-30 lbs, 10 reps x 4 sets each side
  • Wide grip rows, 50 lb bar, 10 reps x 3 sets
  • Behind the neck lat pulldown using 30 lb bar, 10 reps x 3 sets
  • Seated low rows (cables), 50 lbs, 10 reps x 4 sets
  • 15 minute step mill session
  • STRETCH!

So I realize this should have been a high carb day. I lifted A LOT! This carb cycling is trial and error though. Now I know to make back day a high carb day!

I did some grocery shopping after the gym. I had to load up on all my veggies for the week. Protein I pretty much had covered from my trip to Wegmans last weekend.

I spy portobello mushrooms, green beans, and raspberries! Yum 🙂

After unloading I went back to G-Mama and Pop Pops to pick up the gremlin

She’s in there… to the left!

We made dinner, a HUGE salad to get in all my veggies and then I made two chicken breasts since my carb was missing. I ended up eating just one and a piece of the other one.

I also watched Say Yes to the Dress and YES I WANT THIS DRESS!

This dress fit this girl like a glove. I loved it. And really I just liked her whole look. I certainly couldn’t pull it off, but I think she looks gorgeous!

I really wanted a dessert later, but since I was having  a low carb day, I thought what can I have that’s not plain Jell-O? And so I made this lovely mug cake that took about 2 minutes and is low carb using ground almonds (into a flour) instead of regular flour! WIN!

Recipe saved for a special project!

I pretty much destroyed it… then licked the plate clean

Sorry I made you drool a little.

Enjoy your Sunday! Leg day for me. HIGH CARBS! YAY!
