Hard Work Shattered

Sunday! How did you come so quickly? 3 days of what was supposed to be super productive came and went. I seriously tried so hard to get everything done, but I was MAJORLY distracted with this blog business. Ever since I attended FitBloggin’ my mind has been on how to get this little plant of mine to grow from a seed to a beautiful leafy green tree. It definitely has potential don’t you think?

Speaking of my conference…

When I was there I had someone say to me oh I already follow you on Instagram! As she pulled out her phone she said to me “oh no wait, I don’t. When I saw this picture of you….”

abs girl

“I said skinny b****, I’m not following her!”. At the time I laughed and said “oh well girl please go to my blog and look at my before”.

Yeah I laughed it off, but it stuck with me and was probably one of the things I remember most about what was said at the conference. Why do negative things stick with us so much? It makes me upset that the whole conference was about accepting people, accepting change, and moving past the negatives, yet people still try to bring you down. I WORK HARD to stay this shape and it does not come easy to me, nor is it my natural build. I don’t think I should be judged for my physique, and I certainly don’t think it’s fair to pick on someone who is fit because I never would pick on someone starting out. Basically from this I learned no matter where you are in your fitness journey, people can be negative because they are not 100% secure with themselves. You need to take the negativity and turn it into POSITIVITY. So fuel my fire baby, if you want to call me names I will take it and run with it… LITERALLY!

Moving on to my day, yesterday I slept in again! Holy moly my body likes sleep. I meant to get up at 7am and usually Phoebe will tap me when my alarm goes off (she’s not a dog), but even she wanted to sleep! Before I knew it 10:00 was approaching and I was in bed. WOW!Β

I started my morning off by making a fabulous granola inspired by the conference. This is my Almond “Sugar” Granola. Β I say “sugar” because it’s sugary sweet without the guilt! I used coconut crystals, sugar free maple syrup, cinnamon, and a little bit of brown sugar. Click the picture below for this recipe! You won’t regret it!

So this fabulous granola I ended up sprinkling on a “fluff bowl”. Basically this is a smoothie bowl but I use my fluff as the base. Cute huh? The girls at FitBloggin’ were having smoothie bowls at Kure and I thought I need to put my fluff in a bowl! I’ll post the recipe for this one in a few days!

After food, I headed to my parents house. Phoebe pretty much LEAPED in her bag she was so excited. We didn’t go over the day before and she really missed “her peeps”. Β After catching up and watching some horrible reality tv, I hit the gym.

It was BACK DAY! And today I share my workout with you all πŸ™‚

I also played around on this balance board. I am a pro at the bosu and it doesn’t challenge me anymore. This is HARD! As you can see I am leaning one way. I did it a few minutes and I am going to continue to do it every day until I can hold it and no longer shake.

I also did the stairs for 20 minutes with an audience (ew), and then some spinning for 30 minutes. I love spinning alone! So fun.

When I went back to my parents I attempted to walk BOTH dogs

we tried

Shelby wasn’t having it. She hates the heat.

and failed

She went right back up the driveway even though I tried to get her to walk. So Phoebe and I had to do a lap alone.

I just love my parents neighborhood. Looks so pretty on a summer day!

beautiful neighborhood and skies

When I came home I went to work on my blog. I bet about 75% of my day is spent at this computer. I have become a tad obsessed, but it’s going to be worth it soon, I KNOW IT! Spoiler alert: that new design is coming soon and you guys are going to LOVE it. I can’t wait to show it off πŸ™‚

I did snack a little on some fruit, including this juicy watermelon!

And as the hours rolled by I realized I hadn’t had dinner! So I got up and started cooking a bison steak I took out earlier. As I was reaching for some spices this happened….

My granola from the morning… dunzo. I was devastated. I only had a teeny bit!

And then 5 minutes later I went to take my Foreman grill off the top of my fridge and this happened….

puppy food spilled

Two epic spills in 5 minutes. New record. By the second one I was so darn hungry I said I’m leaving it! So Phoebe scooped up a little bit and I cooked.

I wanted a salad with kale so I threw together a quick vinaigrette

The pineapple juice was from the container holding my pineapple slices. It was incredible!

The bison steak was pretty good! A tad bit chewy, but the flavor was good. The last time I had red meat I ended up throwing it away, but I really liked this. Bison is a VERY lean meat. It has about 2.5 grams of fat and 143 calories. Compare that to regular red meat that has about 10 grams of fat and about 220 calories a serving. You can find bison at any butcher or the bigger grocery/health food stores. It’s sometimes harder to find in regular supermarkets.

Today I plan on being productive again, but actually going to do some errands. I’m in dire need of a spray tan again!

XOXO With a Cherry On Top,

-Minnie

OMG! How can someone be ok with saying that?? I follow you because your such an inspiration, and your funny lol. That’s just rude, at least karma will hit her one day :). I think I would have cried (if I was hungry) and my container of granola broke all over the floor. Then the dog food, yeah I defiantly would have. Yay!! Can’t wait for the new design!! I love it when blogs get new designs πŸ™‚ Love your cute Lululemon outfit btw. Hope today goes better and nothing falls and cracks πŸ™‚

Haha thanks. It would help out a lot if A: I didn’t have butter fingers, and B: if I wasn’t such a clumsy gal!

Don’t let the negative comments get you down, you have worked too hard to let it all suffer! There are always going to people who judge others unfortunately and it can be really upsetting on you. Looking forward to the new blog layout! Loved reading your workouts, I missed them (give me inspiration and ideas!!) All the best Tam x

Woah – I love those shorts! Which style are they??

    1. Katie

They were on sale and I don’t see them on the site, there is a similar pair (run speed shorts) without the cute cut out design at the bottom though πŸ™

People can be so mean sometimes – I don’t get it. I follow a few things on FB – fitness type things…and some of the comments blow my mind!! They automatically say PLASTIC..too skinny….blah blah. UMMM try hard work, and busting that @$$. Mind you most of the people that comment are bigger people..and want that easy fix, and magic pill. It irratates me – it can be done…with hard work, and right choices. You rock on girl!!
