Monday Things

Hi gang!

Did you have a nice weekend? Mine was short because I worked yesterday, and I was still trying to switch my clock back to day time (still struggling).

Phoebe and Tony spent some quality time together while mama worked, and when I came home she was STILL all about Tony. Yes, I was slightly hurt and offended, but she went back to her normal self within a few hours. I think she was trying to teach me a lesson. Never leave Phoebe.

For the record we ended up going to Mexican on Friday night. We always order a lot of food, but Tony went above the call of duty.

Yeah, he came nowhere close to finishing that…

We did take a doggy bag to go, but we were so full and tired from the food that we left it out on the counter overnight 🙁

I did have some yummy Italian cookies though! These were from a fresh bakery in Baltimore. Oh the sprinkles!

Moving back to healthier things, today I need to get back in the gym. I skipped these past two days because my body was TIRED. On Saturday Tony and I went together and after 10 minutes I physically couldn’t do it. If I was on prep I would have pushed my body past that exhaustion, but I’m NOT on prep so I said ‘hey I’m going to listen to my body here, it’s telling me something’. The same thing yesterday. I was exhausted after my shift so I went straight home. There is nothing wrong with doing this folks. If you need a break, then you need a break. TAKE IT! This is all part of this learning to live a normal life thing that I’m all about right now. The gym should be what I love to do, my enjoyment. Not punishment for eating things over the weekend. I started to feel like I HAD to do it over wanting to do it. Today I WANT to go to the gym, so that’s what I’m going to do. Fitness should be fun, not a chore. If you’re not into lifting, then by all means, don’t lift! Find your strengthening exercises through something you enjoy. Whether it be pilates, yoga, tai chi, kickboxing, etc. Just because I’m a lifter and I advocate muscles and strength doesn’t mean you have to do it too. You can certainly get those beautiful muscles through other forms of exercise.

I mean look at my beautiful friend Patricia. She is a physician and highly trained yoga instructor.

That body is from yoga! Beautiful inside and out.

Today I’ll be in the gym on the step mill, spin bike (I like doing the bike on glute day), and hitting my glutes! I’m hoping to throw in some pelvic thrusts since I haven’t done them in a while. My max before was 205-210 lbs I believe (just for 3), but since it’s been some time I know I won’t hit that again.

I’m going to keep track of what I do today and post my workout on here hopefully tomorrow or Wednesday, so stay tuned!

Have a GREAT WEEK!

XOXO With a Cherry On Top,

-Minnie
