Monday wasn’t that bad right? Well I can’t speak for everyone, I know. Usually Mondays are not too terrible for me, it’s the Tuesdays and Thursdays that sometimes destroy me.
Anyway, I kept busy for most of my work day. Seeing patients, ordering and reviewing tests, writing notes, same old stuff. I just didn’t dread every minute of it like I have been these past few weeks. People noticed a change in me. I told you I flipped the switch Saturday! I feel so much better.
Right around 2:30 I started to drag a bit and I thought okay it’s the 2:30 feeling, I should go get a coffee. But wouldn’t you know it, my cell went off and it was time to see all our patients for the afternoon. There went that coffee… I can’t have coffee right before the gym or I start to feel sick, bloated, and gross, so I have to have it no later than 3-3:30pm. If it was iced I could do it, but we only have hot at work. Beggers can’t be choosers! I really wanted a good workout, so did my arms!
They really should let me wear sleeveless scrubs!
Before I knew it 4:30 struck, I think the positive outlook helps speed up the day too! I changed into my gym ensemble and was happy to drive to my second home even though my body was saying OUCH. My entire body was still extremely sore from my current insanity session (actually when I told my co-workers about my 2 hour workout from the day before, followed by night time yoga a doc said “wow that sounds terrible”). I couldn’t help but giggle. It may sound terrible to him, but to me it sounds like HECK YEAH I DID THAT! Plus it makes me feel good. So if something makes you feel good you go with it right?
Anyway I was debating what exactly to do for my workouts because every muscle hurt. It had been a while since triceps, but those puppies were throbbing (must’ve been the yoga). Legs? NOT A CHANCE, I am currently waddling around the hospital. Back and shoulders done the day before, so I was left with biceps and chest. I felt like some pushups so chest it was.
Jane is out all over the place isn’t she?
I started with 30 minutes on the step mill, then pounded chest.
- Smith chest presses, 65-75 lbs, 10-12 reps x 4 sets
- Side bends, 25 lb plate, 12 reps x 2 sets each side
- Standing chest fly, 8-10 lb kettles, 12-15 reps x 4 sets
- Pushups on balance bench, 10 reps x 4 sets
- Incline chest press (machine), 75 lbs, 10 reps x 3 sets
- Incline bench chest fly, 20 lb weights, 10 reps x 2 sets alternated with 10 pushups x 2 sets
I did the last 2 exercises in the “women’s section” of my gym. I do not know how people work out in there! Nothing to do with the equipmen, it’s the lights! They are FLUORESCENT and right underneath are fans that blow super fast. The combination of the fan and the light makes me physically ill. I get dizzy and nauseated. I don’t know how anyone stands it. I rarely work out in there.
My workout was complete with a 10 minute stroll on the treadmill, jamming to Mr. Timberlake (best album yet), and then some stretching.
At home, Phoebe was SO HAPPY to see me.
We made dinner. Sorry for the paper plate G-Mama
Chicken tenderloins with cumin and sriracha
Miracle noodles (I get obsessed with things), asparagus, pearl onions, avocado (gotta get those fats in!), arugula, salsa, and tomato/basil hummus. Phoebe and I shared the asparagus. That pup eats it up!
She also loves puppy massage time
Before I head out for the day, I leave you with the link to my Egg White Frittata. This lovely egg pie has only 79 calories a serving for a HUGE piece. I cut into 4′s. Get in your protein in the morning and feel good about what you eat
Have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY!
XOXO With a Cherry On Top,
