Watch Your Back Jack

Ever have those days at work where you cannot focus? I had one of those yesterday. I have a great job and I am blessed to work there, but I felt annoyed all day that I had to do work. I’m a brat, I know.

I guess they would call it ‘fun’ and not ‘work’ then… But anyway, it was one of those stare at the clock days where you think if I were home, what would I be doing right now? Well I think I’d be napping because I sleep 3-4 hours a night on work nights, but I’d also work on new recipes I’ve had on my to do list for weeks. Then I started thinking about vacations. Where do I want to go? What do I want to see? And why am I thinking about this because number 1, I can’t afford it and number 2, I can’t afford it. šŸ™

Perhaps I should just buy a big hat, slather on some coconut sun tan lotion and go sit by my pool and fake a vacation. I haven’t even tried out the pool here yet!

I’d probably go in after 5 minutes because I’d feel guilty that there is so much more I could do and get done instead of just sitting outside in the sun.

4:30 finally arrived and I was free as a bird to hit the gym. It was back day and I was more than ready for it.

back day fun

I did 30 minutes of cardio on the elliptical. I’m having some stair master withdrawals, but ellipticals are easier on the knees. Here was my back workout, it was fierce:

  • Dead lifts, 135 lbs, 8-10 reps x 4 sets
  • High cable rows, 40-50 lbs, 10 reps each side then alternating 20 reps. Then overhand grip lat rows, 12 reps. Ā 3 set of all this back to back! PHEW!
  • Wide grip rows, 60 lb bar, 12 reps x 4 sets
  • Narrow grip rows with 25 lb kettles, 12 reps x 4 sets
  • Bent over reverse flys, 20 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
  • Back extensions over stand holding 10 lb weight, 10 reps x 4 sets
  • Slow dead lifts with 60 lb bar, REALLY SLOW to stretch hamstrings (they were tight), 8 reps x 4 sets

back day

My back was really feeling this, so if you want a good back workout try this one out! I know I am going to be so sore the next day.

So here is where stuff gets interesting. I stopped by Safeway on my way home to get bananas. I’m walking along in the store texting like always when I go to grab my bananas. I turn my back for a nano second, turn back and BAM. Cell is GONE. At first I thought I lost my mind, I started throwing bananas every which way, then over to the spinach where I was before. Then I thought wait I was texting right? So I RACE out to my car only to realize, no I definitely was texting inside, I’m not crazy.

Someone stole my cell phone….

So after the panic washed through me I went over to customer service in tears, called my parents, and then asked if they had surveillance tapes. Evidently this is not the first time it happened, because the man working there grabbed his walkie talking and said okay I’m on this one. Everyone around me felt my pain because obviously we all have things on our phones that we don’t want in others hands. 15 minutes later in walks a young gentleman saying “did anyone lose a phone?”. Well you can imagine my excitement and how I pretty much leaped into this strangers arms.

Turns out it was just LAYING in the parking lot. So was I crazy and left it? Absolutely not, because I was in the store texting. See my phone is piece of poo and doesn’t turn off anymore. I guess when the thief realized my phone is crap and worth nothing, he tossed it aside. Needless to say NOT COOL THIEF! But major props to the guy in Safeway who turned it in. My life saver! We definitely need more honest people in the world like him, if only he knew I was out there blogging about how wonderful he is šŸ™‚

Lesson learned: never leave things unattended even for a split second and watch your back jack!

So yes my phone is back in my pretty little hands, ready for more selfies!

Hahaha I would do that all the time when I was at work, for me, it made the day 10X worse and made me a tad bit irritable, probably because I hated my job though. So happy you got your phone back!!! I had my stolen once, I freaked too. It’s scary knowing someone else has it, and you don’t know what they’re going to do with it or the information.

Yes…yes I have!! Sometimes it’s just hard to focus…. šŸ™‚ And let me just add I hate the 2:00 hr at work…it has to be the LONGEST hour of the day!!! A staycaction – we all need those at times šŸ˜‰ SO glad you got your phone – and yes there are some good ppl out there. I dropped my wallet once – I put it in the top of my buggy…well I’m shopping around look down and it’s gone…I panicked – had tears….ran all over the store – then ran up front and told them. The lady says to me – I was calling you. I was like huh?!? I man found it right outside the store and brought it in – she had looked inside and found my name, etc and was trying to locate me. I was SO excited. Not to mention it was a dooney and bourke wallet!! Soooo thank goodness there are some good ppl out there!!!

That’s amazing you found your cell again! Poor you!!! How nerve wracking. My husband always tells me never to leave my cell but I have this bad habit of docking it in one of the cup holders on my baby’s stroller. Your post is a good reminder not to leave stuff out. šŸ˜€
