Good Morning and HAPPY FRIDAY! I really am looking forward to this weekend. Do I have BIG plans? Well, no. I just want to catch up on some sleep and relaxation! Like I said I only have 2 days this weekend instead of my normal 3, but it was my decision so I can have Friday’s off from now on. Just have to suck it up and lose that day.
I woke up yesterday at 4 am, good thing it was a half hour earlier because I opened the blinds to this
It was not fun to drive in! Plus someone tailgated me the whole way to the hospital! What the heck? It was awful weather.
I was all bundled up
Work was hectic as always, but I spent the afternoon in the OR in a plastic surgery case. I inhaled my lunch before going in because I knew it was going to be a long case. Somehow, we ended up talking about my “clean eating” again, and people are usually very curious and want to know more! I explain myself and then I’m labeled as the “weird girl”. Hey, if super healthy is weird, I guess I’ll be weird! I understand it’s not exactly the “norm”, but it works for me. Overall though, I’m always told they respect it because it takes tons of will power, and it does! It’s just always a bit of an awkward conversation because people think you live off of hemp seeds and raw carrot sticks! Not this Skinny Minnie, I eat!
When the day was done, I made it to the gym again! I can’t believe I’ve been able to go all this week. I bundled up again…
I did 32 minutes on the stairs (this flew by!) and then hit SHOULDERS! My favorite
- Rotator cuff single arm open and close using cables, 15 lbs, 12 reps x 3 sets each arm
- Upright rows with cable, 50 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Military Press with 30 lb bar, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Rear Delt Fly’s, 17.5 lbs, 15 reps x 2 sets, then 20 lbs, 12 reps x 2 sets
- Hook punches with 12 lb weights, 20 reps alternating sides x 3 sets
- Lateral straight arm raises with 8 lb kettles, 10 reps x 4 sets
- Front straight arm raises with 12 lb kettles, 12 reps x 4 sets
I did these exercises in between sets to keep my heart rate up and rest my shoulders:
- side bends with 30 lb kettle, 15 reps x 2 sets each side
- torso twist with 30 lb kettle, 20 reps x 4 sets
- standing crunch with 30 lb kettle, 10 reps x 4 sets
- Squats, 12 reps x 4 sets with 8 sets of pulses at the end of each set
My legs felt really tight, so I had to stretch them out quite a bit too!
When I came home I was told I had a package… hmmmm I didn’t order anything? (The best kind!)
After I sliced it open with my keys (and Phoebe freaked out because she thought I was leaving again) this beauty was inside!
I mentioned on Tuesday my food processor bit the dust! And this lovely surprise was in the mail! I couldn’t believe it. Who sent it to me? There was no note, nothing on the receipt! I picked up my phone and started dialing.

I also just put together a quick dinner, watched Ellen, and sat with Phoebe in my chair.
I have been so exhausted these past few days. Sleep is lacking big time during the work week. I ended up falling asleep in the chair until 11. Cleaned up a few things and went straight to bed. So no recipes happened, or blogging! (This is being typed at 4am.. eek– dedication!)
Even though I’m so tired and I know today is going to be insanely busy, the light at the end of the work week is in sight! FRIDAY! One shift to go and then the weekend
I probably will take today as my gym day off and just catch up on some things and go to bed early. Oh I have an exciting social life don’t I? 😉
